This is not a title for ego. It is a position earned through discipline, sacrifice, humility, and years of service. At this level, your name begins to carry spiritual weight.

Sou Pwen is the level where:

Sou Pwen means you are:

You do not carry the Ason yet. But you carry the shadow of the Ason. The weight of preparation sits on your shoulders.

DRESS CODE OF A SOU PWEN

At this level, your clothing becomes spiritual uniform. In ceremony:

White remains the base.
But you may be assigned specific touches of certain colors, gold, or blue.
Headwrap must be firm, symmetrical, respectful.
Clothing must allow kneeling, lifting, turning, and assisting.
No loud jewelry
No perfume
No casual clothing—everything must be ceremonial quality.

A Sou Pwen’s appearance reflects their internal discipline. Your clothing must say: “I am ready. I am accountable. I am in formation.”

DAILY PROTOCOL OF A SOU PWEN

Daily life becomes spiritual training.
At this stage, your entire lifestyle becomes aligned with Ginen.

Personal Ritual Discipline

You must:

maintain daily libation.
light your spiritual lamp
refresh your altar water.
document dreamwork
monitor your own energy.
maintain physical and spiritual hygiene!

House Responsibilities

You help oversee:

Badji care
cleaning of sacred spaces
arrangement of ritual tools
order and preparation before ceremonies
assistance for weaker members

Ritual Preparation

You now learn:

how to prepare full altar setups
how to organize offerings by ritual type
how to coordinate with drummers, singers, and Hounsi Senp
how to read signs of spiritual imbalance in the room

Sou Pwen is a level of purification. The spirits strip away everything that cannot enter Asongwe.

A Sou Pwen must demonstrate:

This level strips you down and rebuilds you. You learn how to:

A Sou Pwen becomes unmovable. Unshaken. Deeply rooted. Wholly aligned with Ginen.

CERTIFICATION: SOU PWEN CONSECRATION

This is the initiatory level of true leadership.

Spiritual Meaning:

This certification declares that:

you can uphold ceremony.

you are ready for deeper secrets.

This is the level the spirits take seriously.

White with Red or Gold (traditionally)
