About us
Lakû Mètrès La
“Return to Spirit. Honor the Ancestors. Walk the Sacred Path.”
Who We Are
Lakû Mètrès La is not just a house. It is a living vessel, a breathing archive of ancestral memory, a place where the old spirits recognize their children and call them home.
We are the echo of Ginen rising again in this world. We are not a modern creation or a borrowed idea. We are the continuation of the sacred road that began before borders existed, before religions were named, before empires rose or fell.
Lakû Mètrès La is the return, the remembering, the re-activation of the covenant our ancestors carried through fire, ocean, and time. It is the place where knowledge becomes rhythm, where rhythm becomes power, and where power becomes service.
This house stands as a bridge between worlds, between the seen and unseen, between the breath of the living and the footsteps of the dead.
We are guardians of memory. We are keepers of rhythm. We are gran-children of the oldest truth: that the soul never forgets its source.
Our Mission
To awaken spiritual intelligence, not just belief. To restore ancestral science, not superstition. To shape whole human beings who can carry the weight of spirit with discipline, clarity, and devotion.
Our work prepares the body to stand firm, prepares the mind to listen, and prepares the spirit to walk with the ancestors. We teach Vodoun the traditional way: through silence, through rhythm, through repetition, through revelation.
We do not teach for entertainment. We do not teach for curiosity. We teach so that every Vodounvi may become a pillar, a vessel, a servant of truth.Everyone who enters this Lakû learns to:
• Serve with a steady hand
• Walk with ancestral rhythm
• Hear the voice of their spiritual court
• Speak the language of the invisible without fear
Mastery for us is not power over others. Mastery is obedience to spirit. It is the moment when the soul remembers who it was before the world tried to make it forget.
Misyon Nou
Travay nou prepare kò a pou l kanpe dwat, espri a pou tande, espri a pou mache ak zansèt yo.
Nou aprann Vodoun jan zansèt yo te aprann li: nan silans, nan rit, nan repete, nan revelasyon. Nou pa aprann pou amizman. Nou pa aprann pou kiryozite. Nou aprann pou chak Vodounvi vin yon poto, yon vèso, yon sèvitè verite. Nenpòt sèvitè ki rantre nan Lakû a aprann:
• Sèvi ak men ki fikse
• Mache ak rit zansèt yo
• Tande vwa eskòt espirityèl li
• Pale langaj envizib la san perèz
Metrize ak pouvwa sou lòt sèvitè. Metrize se obeyisans anvè espri. Se moman kote nanm nan sonje kiyès li te ye anvan mond lan eseye fè l bliye.
Our Lineage
Lakû Mètrès La stands upon ancient ground. Every teaching we offer carries the breath of a nation, the memory of a people, and the fire of a spirit.
We honor and transmit the currents of:
- Ginen Vodoun, the ancestral force that shaped Ayiti’s soul.
- Rada, the path of peace, order, and ancestral coolness.
- Petwo, the path of fire, transformation, and righteous movement.
- Gede, the path of death, truth, healing, life cycle and unfiltered clarity.
- Fon, Ewe, and Yoruba wisdom, the mother rivers of African spirituality.
- Taíno mysteries, the heartbeat of the land itself, the first guardians of Ayiti Kiskeya.
- Kongo science, the road of iron, shadow, bone, and ancestral flame.
- Holistic and planetary healing, where ancient rhythm unites with cosmic alignment.
This is not religion. This is not conversion.
This is remembrance—the return to the source from which all spirits rise.
Linyaj Nou
Lakû Mètrès La kanpe sou tè ansyen. Chak ansèyman pote souf yon nasyon, memwa yon pèp, dife yon espri. Nou onore kouran sakre yo:
- Vodoun Ginen, fòs zansèt ki modle nanm Ayiti.
- Nasyon Rada, chemen lòd, trankilite, ak rasin.
- Nasyon Petwo, chemen dife, mouvman, ak transfòmasyon.
- Nasyon Gede, chemen lanmò, verite, gerizon, kreyasyon lavi ak klète san filtè.
- Sajès Fon, Ewe, Yoruba, rivyè manman espirityalite Afriken an.
- Mistè Taíno, batman tè a, premye gadjen Ayiti Kiskeya.
- Syans Kongo, wout fè, lonbraj, zo, ak dife zansèt.
- Gerizon Olistik ak Planètè, kote ritm ansyen rankontre alimantasyon kozmik.
Our Approach
Experience
We teach the way our ancestors taught: through experience, through immersion, through rhythm, through living the work instead of reading about it. A Vodounvi learns by:
❖ Holding the work candle
❖ Pouring libations
❖ Serving the spirits
❖ Listening to dreams
❖ Feeling the vibration of the drum inside their bones
❖ Traveling to Ayiti to touch the soil of Ginen.
Each level of study opens a deeper gate, inviting the child of the Lakû to discover another layer of their own spirit.
Knowledge becomes muscle. Discipline becomes instinct. Rhythm becomes understanding.
Embodiment
In every ceremony, another piece of the self-wakes up.
Songs carry codes.
Chants unlock memory.
Silence becomes a teacher.
The spirits begin to shape the inner world of the hounsi, softening what is rigid, strengthening what is weak, and sharpening what has been dull.
A true student does not just study Vodoun.
A true student becomes Vodoun.
Service
Each initiation reconnects you to your ancestral voice, to the court that has walked beside you since before you were born.
Through morning meditations, evening rituals, community work, and pilgrimages to Ayiti, every Vodounvi learns how to balance:
❖ spirit and science
❖ faith and function
❖ the visible and the invisible
❖ the self and the collective
Service is not optional. Service is the backbone of priesthood. It is the rhythm that keeps the Lakû alive.
Metòd Nou
Eksperyans
Nou aprann jan zansèt yo te aprann nou: nan eksperyans, nan kanalizasyon, nan rit, nan viv eksperyans travay la olye nou li sèlman. Yon Vodounvi aprann:
❖ Kenbe Balèn Travay
❖ Jete Dlo
❖ Sèvi espri yo
❖ Koute rèv
❖ Santi vibrasyon tanbou a nan zo li
❖ Ale Ayiti pou manyen tè Ginen an
Chak nivo etid ouvè yon pòt ki pi pwofon, ki envite pitit Lakû a dekouvri yon lòt kouch nan pwòp espri l.
Konesans vin tounen fòs. Disiplin vin tounen ensten. Ritm vin tounen konpreyansyon.
Enkanasyon
Nan chak seremoni, yon lòt moso nan nanm ou reveye.
Mizik pote kòd.
Chantasyon debloke memwa.
Atravè meditasyon chak maten, rityèl aswè, travay kominotè, ak pelerinaj an Ayiti, chak Vodounvi aprann kijan pou balanse:
❖ espri ak syans
❖ lafwa ak fonksyon
