Gatherings and Shared Moments of Lakû Mètrès La

Some teachings cannot be learned in isolation. Some wisdom requires bodies in the room, voices moving together, breath shared, and time held with care.

Events within Lakû Mètrès La exist because there are moments when spirit requires presence, not distance. These gatherings are where teachings leave the page and enter the body. Where lessons are not only understood but remembered. Where community stops being an idea and becomes lived experience. Events are how the work becomes real.

When people gather with intention, something organizes itself. Rhythm forms. Memory awakens. What was scattered finds coherence. What was intellectual becomes embodied. This is why gatherings are treated with respect, structure, and discernment. Nothing here is casual. Nothing is added simply to stay busy.

Each event exists because it serves the work.

The Purpose of Our Gatherings

Events are not entertainment. They are living classrooms, ancestral meeting points, and ritual markers in time.

Some gatherings are designed to teach.
Some are designed to heal.
Some are designed to mark seasons, honor ancestors, or pause intentionally.

Not every event is for everyone, and that is intentional. Attendance is not about numbers or visibility. It is about readiness, respect, and alignment.

Each gathering asks something of the participant: preparation, presence, maturity, and accountability. You are not asked to perform spirituality. You are asked to arrive honestly.

Types of Events Offered

Educational Intensives and Structured Teachings

These gatherings are focused, disciplined, and intentional. They transmit knowledge responsibly and allow space for integration. Preparation is required. Participation assumes commitment and respect for the structure of the work.

Healing Gatherings Held with Care and Boundaries

Healing work is never rushed here. These events are facilitated with strong energetic containers, emotional safety, and clear expectations. Privacy and consent are honored at all times. No one is pushed. No one is exposed for spectacle.

Seasonal Observances and Intentional Pauses

Certain moments in the year call for reflection, remembrance, or realignment. These gatherings honor cycles rather than productivity. They remind us that growth is rhythmic, not linear.

Private or Invitation-Only Gatherings

Some spaces are intentionally limited and reserved for members, initiates, or those at a specific stage of training. Restriction is not exclusion. It is protection of the work and respect for spiritual readiness.

Signature Annual Gatherings

Certain gatherings anchor the rhythm of Lakû Mètrès La and return each year as points of remembrance, renewal, and continuity.

Lakûversary – April 10th

Commemoration of Founding, Lineage, and Continuity

The Lakûversary marks the founding of Lakû Mètrès La. This is not a casual celebration. It is a ritual anniversary, a moment where the origins of the work are consciously honored.

This gathering exists to acknowledge lineage, commitment, and responsibility. It is a time to reflect on how the Lakû has grown, what has been preserved, and what must continue to be protected.

Participants are invited to take account of their own journey within the work. What has shifted. What has strengthened. What has required discipline. What has required surrender.

Vows to the work are renewed consciously, not out of obligation, but out of clarity. Those who have carried the Lakû forward through service, consistency, and devotion are acknowledged with respect.

This gathering reminds us that Lakû Mètrès La is not an idea. It is a living structure sustained by those who show up with integrity.

Annual Retreat – July

Immersion, Restoration, and Integration

The Annual Retreat is an intentional withdrawal from daily noise and external demands. It is designed as a deep immersion space where spiritual work, rest, reflection, and reconnection are held together.

This retreat is not about constant activity. It is about listening more clearly. Listening to the body. Listening to spirit. Listening to what routine and urgency often silence.

Participants enter a slower rhythm that allows practices to settle into the nervous system, not just the intellect. Time is made for meditation, guided work, communal reflection, rest, and integration. Silence is honored where needed. Dialogue is guided where appropriate.

Shared time strengthens communal bonds in a way casual contact cannot. Trust deepens naturally through presence, not pressure.

This retreat supports realignment, restoration, and renewed steadiness in the work.

Gede Brunch – November

Ancestral Remembrance, Truth, and Living Memory

The Gede Brunch is a communal observance honoring ancestors, memory, humor, and truth. It recognizes that remembrance is not only solemn. It is alive, expressive, and deeply human.

Ancestors are honored as present witnesses, not distant memories. Grief and laughter are welcomed side by side. Storytelling, honesty, and reflection are treated as sacred acts.

The brunch format creates warmth and accessibility while maintaining reverence. Food is shared. Memory is spoken. Truth is allowed to breathe.

This gathering reminds the community that honoring the dead also means honoring life fully, with honesty, humor, and depth.
